Encounter Generator

Build a reproducible encounter with compatible enemies, an actionable setup, grounded tactics, complete stat blocks, and optional loot.

Balance note: Treat this as a generator heuristic, not a guarantee of balance. Review unusual parties and high-variance monster abilities before play.

How the encounter is built

Target first

Party size adjusts the party level, then difficulty establishes a visible target EL. The roster is assembled and its actual EL is calculated independently.

Coherent ingredients

Structured environments, creature types, and curated tags narrow the local SRD catalog. Premises explain why mixed groups cooperate.

Reusable interfaces

The server-side generator returns structured encounter, roster, setup, tactics, stat-block, and reward data for future quest and dungeon integrations.

Turn a roster into a memorable fight

Use the handbooks on making combat interesting and action economy to refine terrain, pressure, enemy decisions, and the balance between one powerful foe and several weaker enemies.
